Somatic share
It’s been feeling real chokey lately. When I talk to folx and see things on the internet it feels like trying to walk through quicksand while being on fire and doing your best to extinguish it. I’ve been leaning into my practice more and more lately so that I can help these emotions pass through. In my healing journey I learned what you choose to ignore causes other problems. You think that you are just bottling up to protect yourself from hurting but you are actually trapping those emotions and allowing them to cause sickness in the body. When Somatic Activated Healing found me I was deep in my grief not knowing why my usual coping skills were not working. I felt bogged down and a stranger to myself. I just wanted to be free. One day I decided to check out this 30 day challenge to dance through difficult emotions. I did the challenge and something in me cracked. The dancefloor met me and held me and my ish without judgement. Ever since I was a child I used to love to move and dance. I never would have thought it was my own medicine. But it is. Returning to dance and combining it with meditation, breathwork, and affirmation has really helped me process and move through things I could not
In talk therapy. I’m grateful to return back to myself and to have the ability to find myself again and again if need be through movement.
I have a Somatic grief workshop that is an intentional time set to acquire and practice some tools to help move grief up and out the body. We will finish the practice with a soothing sound bath.
I wanted to cultivate a small safe environment for folx to come undone.

I have been waking up itching for days. It feels like a new part of me itching to burst through the surface. It's scary and exciting. What if I fail? What if I fly? So much has been brewing inside of me. So many lessons learned and habits broken. So much purging and reformatting. So much loss waiting for renewal. It's been challenging to grasp it all. Was I meant to? To be uncertain but certain feels like the ultimate mindfuck. I've been bathed in chaos. Learning to sit through it and stay without flinching. Feel your feels they say. I allow the sensations to pass through me and over me. I greet them as if they are an old friend delivering news just for me. You gotta face your shit. What will you alchemize? What will you share? What words do you have? What gifts do you have to share? What tools do you have to teach? How can you be of service? The spiral greets you the answers are within. Dare to share. Dare to engage. Dare to seek. Dare to be bare. Dare to be seen. Undone.

When I first moved to North Carolina in 2006 Auntie was the first person my mother introduced me to. We became inseparable. She treats me as if I am her own child. For 19 years we've been going on adventures. She's prayed over me, cried with me and held me down like no other. I look forward to our next adventure. I'm learning to make peace with expressing myself. After being super sick for over a month and realizing what stress does to a body when left unexpressed. I've decided it's best to release it and transmute it. Most people don't know what space they take up in the world and go around bleeding on others because they are hurt. I really do hope they find a better solution but up out my energy. I am very much so do no harm but take no $hit type of person. The truth is I really don't have capacity for others who refuse to see their stuff. I quickly abandon and block anyone who comes to me with bs. It's not mine to sit with. I won't. That's not an energy exchange or experience I'm willing to participate in anymore. Tell those people where they got you fcked up today. On this day Sekhmet day I woke up kicking and punching. I know it's a stress response as well as my inner warrior wanting to go for blood. I usually channel this energy into creative works. Fire being my favorite thus far. I look forward to expanding my fire practice more.

I found this Hoodie at My parents house when I was visiting the other week. I thought it hadn't been worn but when I put it on I found a mask in it with lipstick on it....I knew it was my mom's the memories started to come back she was wearing it when she FaceTimed me to show me she got her hair done....a week before she went into hospital and never came out. How do i communicate that I have no capacity for small talk. How do I communicate that I'm processing alot and don't care be present for anyone but myself. How do I communicate that I need to feel like things make sense...but they don't. When I'm in flow I am present with the moment. I am free to just be without expectation to perform. Flow is my meditation. Flow is my prayer. I let the music carry me. I have no words for yall.

I own my sensitivities as well as my rebellious nature. I've been in reflection about why I fall out with folx in "authority" maybe it's because I don't allow folks to talk to me or treat me crazy. That behavior has no jurisdiction over me. My boundaries are firm there. My own mother would get the cold shoulder if she talked to me crazy. 5 years ago I was attuned reiki master by a woman named Shana Burns. Before even getting the Attunement I asked how much it cost and she didn't have a cost for me. She said she wanted me to photograph her in exchange for the energetic Attunement. I said ok. But every attempt I made in trying to fulfill said barter got blocked. She literally blocked me and then unblocked me. It was not An energetic match and i let it go. When she reappeared in 2021 to request photos for her business I considered it but then had a meeting with one of my biggest clients so I told her I could not be of service. After all it didn't feel right. When I denied being of service she went into attack mode. She reported me to Google and had her friends harass my business on Google and other social media platforms. We hadn't even worked together and they were making false claims. My personal magic is showing folx themselves through my lense. She blocked that exchange and since there was no contract I am not legally obligated to do anything for her. Especially not 5years later. I'm not even attuning anyone to reiki because I would hate for anyone to have any energetic lineage under her. I've been harassed for 5 years. This past weekend I got notifications on venmo with her commenting under people if paid calling me a crook and that Karma will deal with me. I wish her peace and healing but leave me be. I am not the only person she's tried to bully and ruin. I learned alot from incident and it makes me really firm on my boundaries for myself and my business. You can't bully someone to submit to you. Calling yourself a spiritual teacher but intentionally trying to cause harm shows where your own imbalances are and where healing is needed. Go heal.

This weekend I decided to take a break from cocooning and step out to enjoy some people time with one of my favorite Gemini friends at Big Gay Bingo, Western Edition. I ended the night with adventures upon adventures. Many thanks to folx being gentle with me as I’ve been deep in my healing space. Thank you for witnessing my pockets of joy .✨🤠

We are all on our own unique journey and path.
What works for others won’t necessarily work for you.
What I’ve gone through and endured many would not be able to handle.
When folx use generalized statements about being strong
They have no idea of the amount of strength it takes you to operate as a whole everyday without anyone else involved.

Again and again. I feel like when I'm making some sort of progress things beyond my control knock me back on my ass. I moved to the mountains on Easter of this year after my mother passed away to regroup, heal and work on my trade of metalsmithing. It feels like I got a good 5 months until something happens to reroute me elsewhere. This time an apocalyptic natural disaster drove me from my home. I could never imagine this would have happened. I was just starting to build with my metalsmithing community then bam this bullshit. I'm grateful I still have my life but if I wanted to survive I had to leave. Here's to leaping into the unknown...May me and my pup have a safe landing.

I am excited to announce that I will be exhibiting my Reiki Infused Jewelry and photography at the Mint Museum. I am honored to present at AdornMINT, an exhibition that honors and highlights the creativity and work of Black designers based in and around Charlotte, is happening Wednesday May 1st from 6-9pm. This one-night only installation will display the multiplicity and diversity of design in all its forms, including fashion, product, and graphic design. The reception is FREE, there will be a no-host bar and DJs @SeeBirdGo and @CJtheGifted will be spinning the vibes. AdornMINT is a collaboration between The Mint Museum, the Young Affiliates of the Mint (YAMs), and Davita Galloway of DUPP&SWAT and CrownKeepers and as a special Wednesday Night Live program, generously supported by Bank of America.
